The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the finance and accounting department and will be integral to the monthly close process as well as the analysis of the monthly financial results.  The Senior Accountant will also be involved with the establishment and communication of financial policies and procedures. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries in connection with the monthly close process
  • Assist in the analysis of monthly financial results as compared to projections and prior period actual results
  • Assist in the development of financial policies and standard operating procedures
  • Prepare and provide required documentation to auditors in connection with external financial audits
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation to support banking requirements
  • Prepare certain materials to support Board of Directors meetings
  • Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Collaborate with and support other functional departments within the organization
  • Perform other ad hoc requests, as necessary

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 4-6 years of relevant corporate accounting experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and/or other life-science industry, preferred 
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Detailed oriented and well organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
